Happy stories

Happy stories

For many of us what is happening in the world right now is still beyond our depth, we all are in a situation we never thought or feared of (at least I never thought and feared of something like this can happen)

We might have seen something similar in the cinema but that time we thought ok, the filmmaker had been either weird or way too imaginative but when leaving the cinema we could happily acknowledge that everything was fine.
This time we cannot switch off the movie, it is happening and happening very fast and uncontrollable.

The news are sometimes confusing and contradictory but one thing is for sure social distancing can save many lives and we have to do it for our own and each other’s sake.

In my opinion it is really good to be on our own, with our thoughts if this is our own choice but if someone would like to talk and share thoughts or just to have some relaxing moments, which in these tough days can be really relieving and encouraging but if there is nobody to talk or contact to, it can be too bad, sad or even depressing.

This is true not only for those who live alone but for anyone who lives in a family or in a community and based on personal experience sometimes it is great to talk to someone whom we just met but there is real bond from the very first moment.

I had this experience while walking the El Camino in Spain and so grateful for it. El Camino was one of the best experience and time of my life. Great walk, wonderful feelings and lovely people.

I believe everybody has a nice story, great memories and well rememberred experiences.

It would be great to read some because in a time such this we need to maintain our mental health, we now need optimism more than ever and some relaxing time.

If you have one or more stories (the more the better) please share with me/us. It would be greatly appreciated.

Take care of yourself and one another

  1. When the worst happens it is hard to see beyond the difficulties. But life goes on and we do all win through in the end.

In 2017 we had a really bad fire sweep through our area. We got out and were safe but the world around us that we knew and loved was destroyed. The land was black. The fire had entered our house and although the damage was serious, it was in 2 rooms. The rest survived but was very black. We also lost our store with a life times collection of tools and so much more.

Whilst cleaning up and recovering in the house, we could ignore the garden as there was none. But, as spring came along gradually we began to see shhots come from the base of trees we thought were dead. Week by week we had a discovery of another new shoot coming up with the determination and promise of life in the future. Every new shoot was a moment of joy to see the wonder of survival. The most amazing was 18 months after the fire, our pomegranate bush suddenly put out shoots.

We will get through this virus. I think it may change the way we behave, think and feel. Maybe a readjusting. But it is human nature to fight to survive and we will and we will adapt. Keep faith believe in the future we will have when we come through this.
